Das Berlinder zwanziger Jahre dient als Schauplatz des Geschehens. „Hier wurde kein Einzelschicksalanalysiert. Das kollektive Geschehen, das Allgemeine einer menschlichen Situation erfuhreine gueltige dichteresche Gestaltung. Das Werk zaehlt zu den grossen Epen unserer Zeit.“1Das Drehbuch zum Film ist ebenfalls von Alfred Doeblin enstand aber in Zusammenarbeitmit Hans Wilhelm und Karl Heinz Martin, der fuer die Dialog-Regie verantwortlich war.Diese Arbeit wird den Film „Berlin Alexanderplatz“ behandeln, in dem sie sich zuerst denKurzbiographien des Romanautor, des Regisseur und des Hauptdarstellers zuwendet. Desweiteren versucht sie eine Einordnung in den historischen Kontext und analysiert dann dietechnischen Mittel. Zum Abschluss wird die Wirkung und Kritik des cineastischen Werkesdargestellt.
